Hellooooo Catholics…and everyone else! Welcome to a Catholic Guy Pilgrimage. Your home for pure pilgrimage pleasure.
I’m excited to have you join us on our Catholic Guy Pilgrimage to the Holy Land. I love it there…and you will, too.
Before we go, I’d like to share some thoughts about how we do pilgrimage - and what makes our trips so unique.
On my first pilgrimage to the Holy Land, I went with a group. Mornings started with a 5am wake up call and we were out of the 3 star hotel by 7am. We were back at the hotel by 5pm, eating the same hotel buffet every night, and going to sleep by 9 or so. It was like a mini-retreat. This is the norm with most pilgrimages. Which is why I don’t lead most pilgrimages.
On our trips, we’ll only be leaving the hotel before 9am one time. And that’s to have Mass inside the Tomb of the Resurrection! It’s worth it.
We will be staying out late. Dinners usually begin around 7:30 or so. We try making it back to the hotel by 10 or 11. The bonding, the friendships, the fun… yes, we go to the Holy Land for faith. But don’t be surprised by how much fun you have.
You'll love the guides we use. It's like you're traveling with family.
It’s amazing to walk where Jesus walked. And we will be doing a lot of walking. But it's also important to remember there are still Christians living in the Holy Land. They are a very small minority, and I want to support them. So, whenever possible, we eat at restaurants run by Christians. Our hotel in Bethlehem is owned and run by the local Christian community there. Our hotel in Jerusalem is actually Vatican property and staffed by local Christians. When we go shopping in Bethlehem, not only can you buy beautiful olive wood and ancient antiquities from Jesus’ time…but the money we spend is supporting the local Christian community there. This is really important to me and I think it will be to you, as well. I’m very aware of how expensive it is to go on pilgrimage. At the end of every trip, people always say we could have charged more! But I’m conscious that its your vacation time, your money, and perhaps a once in a lifetime experience. So while we want you to have an amazing time…I also want you to know we’re working hard to give you an experience you won’t find anywhere else.
